Why we generally fail to continue our passion?

When we get an inspiration to do something great, the first thing we do today is, start researching about it on internet and then may be learning those skills online or in-person. In short, we follow a curriculum that’s defined by someone for us, which is like following a protocol in order to achieve something.

Initially most of us are fine with it, but eventually when the needle doesn’t move, we become frustrated. We think, we need to find someone who’s better, so we search for more. In this process we come across people who are doing better than us. In few cases, we get impressed or inspired but mostly we get depressed. Now our agitated mind wants to rest and the only way to do that is by creating a convincing justification for our failure. If we are not able to do it alone, we pick up the phone and start talking to people of our circle of comfort. They may motivate us to keep working at it but mostly would agree with us for the justification and may ask us to not waste time on that.

That’s the general story and we become weak and weak.

Later a new passion kicks in, which seems more relatable and the same cycle continues. If this is your story too, then you are amongst those 95% people, who are still searching for their passion and struggling to get with it.

This way we keep making backlogs of the things we started and couldn’t complete. Looking back, it is horribly demotivating, making us feel as though we have wasted our time and life.

Inspired by Steve Jobs, you may look yourself in the mirror every morning and ask, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” and if the answer for you has been NO for too many days in a row then you know you need to change something but you are not able to, WHY?

The open secret that Steve Jobs didn’t specifically emphasised was, he didn’t ask anyone about the same but only himself, he mustn’t have watched any motivational video, he didn’t get to people and ask for their opinion about his life progression. He simply asked himself.

This is where the power to continue is!

You must have heard from someone that never tell your plans before the execution, once done people will see. why is that? Is it due to any jinx or superstition we should be thinking about. I don’t think so!

What I have known, seen and experienced is, it feels lighter when we talk to someone about our failures and struggles, this soothes you momentarily but actually it weakens your energy to continue with the same rigour and fight.

You may think, it may be something someone said that changes our perception about our struggle, but it is not that. It is due the release in the energy or nature force, which was the spark behind the motivation, which was building up day by day as we progressed, even when we were struggling.

Have you noticed when you have a secret relationship with someone in college or workplace, there is a tightness in that relationship. It feel so strong that nobody knows and it feels so excited and you are always in energy for that. But the moment you bring that relationship out to everyone, it becomes so light; that the value, the fun, the excitement, the tightness, the grip over it, loosens. And it becomes ordinary and the magic begins to fade. Nobody loves ordinary!

This is the reason I highly recommend people, to not to take any advice about their relationship from anyone. Doesn’t matter how close they are, you will eventually figure out which relationship is good for you and which is not.

That’s why the artists love isolation, businessmen say they took some of the important decisions in life based on their gut feelings. This is nothing but the energy which is at your disposal and working 24 x 7 for you. We don’t realise it and try to figure out the pragmatic explanation for it but it is something which is beyond science.

You are an instrument through which the nature force is working, when we discuss, be open about our situations, the doors begin to close and we don’t feel equally inspired as earlier.

So if we want to do something big, we must keep them within ourselves and slowly we will get to know automatically if it is good for us or not.

Just listen to your heart, it is always telling something to us. We often fail to hear that because there is security guard between our heart and us (true self), which is the practical mind that tries to find the rational behind everything and compels us to see the things which are only visible. But things from the heart are unseen and can only be felt before they come to the world as reality.
