Has the word lost its meaning?

In today’s modern world, where every says ‘It is Kalyuga; no one is trustworthy.’, what has actually happened? why do we see every new person with suspicion?

Is it what our upbringing taught us where there are bad experiences of our parents, relatives, seniors and so on?

Or it is our personal experiences, make us this way?

"Do I distrust you, or myself
Am I scared of you breaking my trust, or I am scared of word 'trust' itself
Do i really get hurt or I hurt you first so that you don't hurt me
Am I what I am or I am what I want to be"

Since we are born, there is one thing everyone wants us to do, that is SPEAK, when we are kids, our parents wanted us to speak, we grew, school wanted us to speak and this continues till today, if you are at work, you must speak.
People who are introvert often seen as impaired and the whole system is trying to push people to take something out of the mouth.

This is not only limited to in person but the telecom operators have made calls free so that we can speak for hours.

We are trying to push the results i.e. speaking but what about the content? what to speak?

Overdo is never good but who would understand that.

Due to this constant blabbering that keeps on happening, the true and imagination have got their boundary merged and it is difficult to figure out ourselves that the things coming out of our mouth is truth or imagination.

You have heard that repeated lies becomes truth, in the same way, repeated imaginative thought becomes the truth.

Now anybody can promise anything to anyone without even knowing meaning of promise.

Nowadays we trust more on written things than verbal. While at work, our bosses tell us to get the commitment from client on email.

Banks, builders and other organizations give us hundreds of pages of documentation to agree and sign, for which we don’t have time to read.

Earlier, people wouldn’t speak until necessary and if they spoke, they treated that as final word.

I was reading a chapter from Ramayana where Lakshmana committed to Rama that he wouldn’t allow anyone to interrupt his meeting with Kala, but due to a conflict situation between his promise and welfare of people of Ayodhya, he chose the later.

After this, because he couldn’t keep his word, he chose to end his life and he did.

Point is, they respected their words more than living on the planet. And now we see everyone has something to say and cannot stop, even if it is false commitments and empty talks.

Now we trust the things more that are in black and white i.e. written somewhere.

I personally have never found a single place where terms are in the favour of the other party, they are always in the favour of the one writing them. Person signing them also knows this reality and still signs it.

Nobody trusts anyone.

In fact the moment we make things in writing trust goes out of the window. Imagine, if your father would ask you to sign the term letter, where he has put his conditions, like, by when he will support your education, help you grow, provide food and all necessary things to live.

Will you ever trust your father based on the signed term letter or even love him?

Should we not focus more on listening than speaking, and while speaking, first stop for a minute, remove that ego element and then the words to be chosen with utmost care (like an artist chooses his brush before painting).

Should we not go back and loosen up of the garbage we have been carrying in the name of learning.

Isn’t it far better to be known as INTROVERT, LESS CONFIDENT, NOT A GOOD COMMUNICATOR than to become someone taking out trash all the time and has no value.

Think about it!
